Why you so obsessed with me?

Stop. 

Be. 

Celebrate. 

Laughter. 

Joy. 

Tears. 

Excitement.

Life.

New. 

 

These are just a few of the things the Lord gave me this week. These are all great things, but the best thing He showed me was that He’s my Father. I know you’re probably thinking, ‘well, duh. You just went on a year long mission trip and you didn’t know that?’ Girl same. I mean… I’ve always known that God is my Father. He just revealed the depth of it a little more to me. 

 

I met one of my CGA instructors, Ben, this week. If he wasn’t talking about CGA, or checking up on others, he was talking about his daughter and showing people pictures of her. He and his wife have recently adopted a baby girl that is now 11 months old and let me tell you, I’ve hung out with this man for just a couple days and dude is OBSESSED with his daughter that he recently adopted. What amazes me is i didn’t even know that she was adopted until i had to ask because his daughter is a different race. 

 

During worship this week we sang, king of my heart. If you don’t know the song, the repeated lyrics are “You are good, good, oh you are good good.” The woman leading worship stopped and said to us, “the Lord is singing over you guys and wants you to know that you’re forgiven. He wants you to remember that He lives inside of you therefore YOU are good. He’s singing this right back to you.” And she started singing, “ you’re my child and you are good.” Y’all. I don’t know what happened but all of a sudden, EVERYTHING changed for me. 

 

You see… yes I’ve always known and acknowledged that God was my Heavenly Father. But to me… God was the King and he adopted me yada yada he adopts everyone yes that’s awesome. Cool. Moving on. And this week the Holy Spirit said “girl NOOO! Open your eyes!” And i felt the Lord pick me up and hold me and say “you’re MINE.” 

 

Y’all. Ben never said “this is my adopted daughter. Oh yeah.. my adopted daughter did this. Oh my daughter I just adopted is so cute.” NO! He said “MY DAUGHTER. I LOOOVE MY DAUGHTER.” Y’all he’s obsessed with her. And God said “you are MY DAUGHTER. I CREATED you.” 

 

This is the first time in my entire life that I have ever called the Lord “Papa”, “Father”, “Dad,” and truly MEANT and FELT what I was saying. This is the first time in my life that I have ever heard Papa say “you are MINE” and felt the depth of what that mean. Guys. My Father is OBSESSED with me! He’s so obsessed with me that 

 

HE DIED to spend eternity with me.

 

Wwwwhhhaaaattt?!!?! And now i get to share this and His love for me to others because He created me and has a purpose for me and has created a beautiful testimony through me for OTHERS to hear. 

 

Thank you Papa for how beautiful you are. Thank you for loving me the way that no one else on this earth does or ever can. Thank you for being forever faithful. Thank you for being my peace, my comfort, my joy, my song, my healer, my provider, but most of all thank you for just being my dad. My papa. My Father, God.
